New comic wall
Brussels opened up a 'Comic Wall XIII' on November 15th in the Philippe de Champagnestreet. It represents the comic hero XIII created by William Vance. The wall can be admired nearby the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, where Vance graduated.
XIII is about a man suffering from amnesia. This comic started in 1984 of which more than 10 million have been sold. Vance is also well known from Bob Morane and Bruno Brazil. The fresco of XIII is the 43th comic wall on the comic route in Brussels.

The 'New' Old Fish Market in Ghent
Finally the Old Fish Market has been renovated and is open to the public since a few weeks.
The 17th century old market was closed in 1963 en opened up again after serious renovation and brings a trendy combination of tourism, food/drinks, a terrace and the start of a walking trail along the water. The fish restaurant 'Bord'eau (http://www.oudevismijn.be/bordeau/) is located there and this year Tourism Ghent will open their office in this great location.

Dries is hot!
Since some time Dries Van Noten is well-known in Hollywood. Maggie Gyllenhaal and Cate Blanchett have been spotted in his creations. But the big news is that the White House discovered this Antwerp top designer. During the presidential round trip in Asia, first lady Michelle Obama was wearing 2 outfits of Dries Van Noten. According to the Washington Post Van Noten is famous for his etnic designs and exuberant decoration elements. He got his inspiration for his tecnic and embroidery in India. By selecting outfits from Van Noten, Michelle Obama shows respect for her host country and its place in the global world of fashion.
Opening of new shop of Museum Plantin-Moretus
Every visitor can visit the new shop of the museum Plantin-Moretus, even without entering the museum. In this shop they sell products and gifts that have a link with their collection. The umbrella with a sky full of angels, the paperweights of the glazed house, natural soaps in beautiful gift boxes. The museum has chosen to collaborate with small, local producers.
The museum shop is open from Tuesday till Sunday from 10 am till 17 pm.

Hasselt
Winter is an excellent time for spa experience. Hasselt now also has a brand new design spa-centre. The location is a most original cargo ship that has been renovated into the spa-centre 'Bo-ness'. They offer four private spa-units, two outdoor units on the upper deck with a Dutch hot tub and a wooden fire, including a free bottle of cava and two inner units. Packages for a weekend are offered in cooperation with B&B Vous lé Vous, a small B&B with gorgeous design rooms.
